Don’t let the kid kill the king

When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a
child. When I became a man, I put childish ways behind me.

1 Corinthians 13:11

Inside of us there is a child. It is a place where we have not grown up. Thank God that we can play and enjoy ourselves like a child, but childlike actions should never control our lives. David saw a woman and desired her. She was married. The child in David overlooked those factors. The child wanted what the child wanted. One moment of passion led to the murder of the woman’s husband. It also brought the judgment of death on the baby that was conceived. That one moment almost destroyed the king in David. The kid almost killed the king. Our actions
have consequences. There may be areas in your life that have the possibility to destroy what you most care about.  It may be lusts, desires, or bad habits. There is one promise in God’s Word that you may not have thought about.  “For everything that is hidden will eventually be brought into the open, and every secret will be brought to light”.  Mark 4:22. It all will be known one day. You must go to war with the negatives of the kid. Replace bad habits with good ones. Make a covenant with your eyes to not see things that stir up lustful thoughts. Walk along a path that will help you become a person of character. Honor the two great commands.  Love your God, and love your neighbor. You can do it. The king in you will be made known to the world. Your life will be a blessing to your family and community. Remember, you were created in God’s image.
Prayer: Father, thank you that my life is being changed daily. What use to be weaknesses in my life, is now becoming my strengths. I plan on feeding myself your Word.  Your Word changes me.  I will put it into practice. Use me to always be a blessing to my family and community. Whatever areas I may struggle, I ask you for your help to overcome them. In Jesus name, amen.

Now go do great things for God
