1 The LORD had said to Abram, “Leave your country, your people and your father’s household and go to the land I will show you. 2 “I will make you into a great nation and I will bless you; I will make your name great, and you will be a blessing.
Genesis 12:1-3
A friend of mine came to Jesus and gave his life to Him. He sincerely loved God and was doing his best to adjust and change his life into the image of Christ. Although he was on the right path, the one area he did not adjust was his relationships. He came from a broken home. Drugs, alcohol and temptations where everywhere. Instead of leaving his relationships and building Godly friendships, the past came calling and he ended up falling back into his old ways. Now he is serving time in prison for crimes he committed. What happened? Aren’t we supposed to become different when we come to Jesus? Jesus saves the spirit of man and gives us the tools to save our souls. That is why we must work on transforming our mind by the Word of God. God told Abram to leave. Leave the past way of living. The negative relationships. The friends that did not know and serve God. God told Him to leave. He gave Abram a promise. He told Him that He will lead him into a new land and will bless him with a blessing that will never end. Today, we are challenged by God just like Abram. God has been speaking to you about negative relationships. Friends that seem to always cause problems and prey on your temptations. Do not be afraid to step out like Abram, and follow God into a new land. A land that carries His blessing for you. Change is not easy, but it is necessary. Let the Holy Spirit speak to your heart about areas of adjustment. Negative relationships will not only keep you away from God’s best, but can also destroy your family and your future. Learn to walk away. Give them an opportunity to accept and follow Jesus. We all should be witnesses, but if there is no change you must walk away. You do not want to miss out on what God says is available. Walk away.
Prayer: Father, I thank you that you are faithful. You are my guide and my shield. I follow you. Help me be a witness to the nations. Show me areas in my life I must change. I want to follow you Lord. I will follow wherever You lead. In Jesus name, amen.
Now go something great for God
