How to open doors

5 Then, teaching them more about prayer, he used this story: “Suppose you went to a friend’s house at midnight, wanting to borrow three loaves of bread. You say to him, 6 ‘A friend of mine has just arrived for a visit, and I have nothing for him to eat.’ 7 And suppose he calls out from his bedroom, ‘Don’t bother me. The door is locked for the night, and my family and I are all in bed. I can’t help you.’ 8 But I tell you this-though he won’t do it for friendship’s sake, if you keep knocking long enough, he will get up and give you whatever you need because of your shameless persistence. 9 “And so I tell you, keep on asking, and you will receive what you ask for. Keep on seeking, and you will find. Keep on knocking, and the door will be opened to you. 10 For everyone who asks, receives. Everyone who seeks, finds. And to everyone who knocks, the door will be opened.

Luke 11:5-10

If you are persistent, you will get what you ask for.  Many give up on their dreams too early.  Others have abandoned their plans at the first obstacle.  There are open doors for you if you keep knocking.  We have to have an attitude that God has prepared a way. When you have direction from the Lord, you must hold onto what God has said even when it looks like every door is shut.  God had spoken to my father about preaching on television.  My father had recorded and aired a few programs in Mexico before the government removed him from television.  The Lord spoke to him about going to Puerto Rico and putting his program on the air.  He did not have any money to buy airtime.  My father was positive that God wanted him to put the TV program on in Puerto Rico.  Every day, my father went to the local TV station and told them they needed to put his program on the air.  He explained that it would bless the people.  Every day, they said no.  He did not quit.  He kept knocking.  One day the general manager said yes.  My father had his open door.  Through those programs, the main engineer of the university was saved.  He taught my father how to apply for TV stations in the United States.  Through the open door, thousands of television stations are broadcasting Christian programming.  What you think is a small door can be a door that will change the world.  Don’t quit in adversity.  If God has shown you the door, keep knocking it will open.

Prayer: Father, I will not stop knocking. I expect doors to open up for me as I follow your plan for my life.  I will not quit on your plans for me.  I thank you for courage and strength to persevere.  In Jesus name, amen

Now go do great things for God
